Mediterranean limestone quality is high.

By geomorphological specification it is identical to the famous German "Solnhofner Plattenkalk" which is used for reconstruction in protected areas in Bavaria. The sites are located within the protected natural areas.

The tradition dates back to the Roman Empire.

According to geological studies it is place with greatests reserves of high-quality limestone in Europe.
